Position Location: Southside Virginia Region
The Vice President, Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) is a key leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight and management of the ATDM program. This position will lead a dynamic team focused on workforce development within the defense manufacturing sector, ensuring the successful training, support, and placement of students in the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). The Vice President will cultivate industry partnerships, oversee the execution of program milestones, and ensure the alignment of the program with both the Submarine Industrial Base and broader DIB goals.

Strategic Leadership:
- Provide visionary leadership to the ATDM program, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives and the needs of the Defense Industrial Base.
- Develop and implement strategies for program growth, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the development and execution of ATDM project milestones, deliverables, and outcomes across all functional areas.
Team Management:
- Lead and mentor the ATDM leadership team, including the Assistant Directors of Career Services, Student Services, and Community Engagement.
- Ensure cohesive collaboration among the team to deliver a seamless student experience from recruitment through job placement.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively, ensuring that all team members are aligned with program goals and objectives.
Industry & Community Engagement:
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders in the Submarine Industrial Base and broader Defense Industrial Base.
- Oversee community engagement initiatives, including the development of housing, transportation, and other student support services.
- Act as the primary liaison between the ATDM program and industry partners, ensuring the program meets the evolving needs of the defense sector.
Program Development & Execution:
- Guide the development and execution of recruitment, training, and job placement strategies to meet industry demand.
- Ensure that all program activities comply with relevant regulatory standards, program guidelines, and contracts.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to secure funding opportunities, including grants and other resources necessary for program success.
Data & Performance Management:
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of program data to ensure alignment with industry goals and program objectives.
- Monitor program performance and implement strategies for remedial action as necessary to meet project goals.
- Provide regular updates to the company president and other key stakeholders on program status, outcomes, and future plans.
Professional Development & Compliance:
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the ATDM team.
- Ensure that all team members are engaged in professional development activities related to the ATDM program.
- Maintain compliance with all program requirements, including adherence to contracts and regulatory standards.
Required Education and Experience
- Masters' degree in Business Administration, Education, Workforce Development, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in workforce development, education management, or a related field, with at least five years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strategic industry partnerships, particularly within the defense sector.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale training or workforce development programs.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a focus on collaboration and partnership.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex challenges.
- Proficiency in data analysis and performance management, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Must be able to speak well in public settings; to effectively converse verbally and in writing.
- Ability to process vague, abstract verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work under stress, interruptions, and tight deadlines.
- Must be able to operate and manipulate a keyboard.
- Light physical work may be required.
